We regularly run training events – and have a waitlist available if there is an event that you’d like to attend. That way, we can easily get in touch with you when we have a place available for you!
We will always offer discounted spots for people in lived experience roles, or for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants. If your financial circumstances are a barrier for you, we warmly welcome you to get in touch.

Our interactive and energising one-day training will provide you with:
- A ‘pocket facilitation’ method, that you can keep with you wherever you go. You will learn to structure a group, define a group’s purpose and use a set of skills to facilitate effectively.
- Gain transferrable skills that you can use in therapeutic groups, peer support groups, reflective practice/supervision groups, and even in meetings!
- Learning about complex group dynamics and ways to navigate privilege and power when working in mental health settings.
- Guidance on how to navigate tricky moments – conflict in groups, working with trauma, working with risk and different participation styles in a group setting.
- A unique experience of being a group participant and seeing ‘behind the curtain’ of group facilitation in action – the trainers will share with you in real time what they are doing and why.
- Access to multidisciplinary trainers in Occupational Therapy and Social Work, who specialise in group facilitation in mental health settings (both clinical and community), and use their disciplinary frameworks, evidence base and experience to inform practice.
- This workshop is ideal for people working in dedicated primary and tertiary mental health settings or in broader community-based roles supporting individuals experiencing mental ill-health i.e AOD, child and family services, forensics, peer support etc.
